David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” revival “recruits Laura Dern”

PanARMENIAN.Net - The revival of "Twin Peaks" series is taking shape with the casting of Laura Dern, AceShowbiz reports. The 48-year-old actress reportedly has been recruited by longtime collaborator David Lynch who is shepherding the revival on Showtime.

According to TV Line, Dern's role is pivotal to the series but details about her character are being kept under "the tightest of wraps". There's a chance that Dern is taking a brand new role as Agent Cooper's never-before-seen secretary Diane. If the casting is true, that would mean Dern and Kyle MacLachlan are once again playing investigating partners. The actors played such role in Lynch's 1986 thriller "Blue Velvet".

Dern's casting is not yet confirmed by Showtime. The revival reportedly will also feature Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty and Amanda Seyfried. MacLachlan is so far the only officially announced cast.

Lynch is writing the series with co-creator Mark Frost and is directing every episodes. Filming has started in Washington for 2017 premiere.
