PanARMENIAN.Net - Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas’ 1821 Media is teaming up with Warner Bros. to develop an untitled Treasure Hunt movie based on an original concept by Dougas and WB executive Jon Berg, TheWrap reports.

Grant Pierce Myers, who co-wrote “The Maze Runner”, will pen the screenplay, which follows a group of treasure hunters as they steal artifacts from museums around the globe and journey through the criminal underworld in pursuit of the greatest treasure of all time.

Kasidokostas-Latsis and Dougas will produce the film alongside Roy Lee and his Vertigo Entertainment banner. 1821 Media recently partnered with Lionsgate to adapt their New York Times best-selling graphic novel “Romeo and Juliet: The War” into a feature film with Stan Lee‘s POW! Entertainment.

Berg will be oversee the project for the studio along with Jon Gonda.

Kasidokostas-Latsis and Dougas recently produced Paul Weitz‘s critically acclaimed comedy “Grandma” starring Lily Tomlin and Gavin O’Connor’s “Jane Got a Gun” starring Natalie Portman. The duo are also executive producing Doug Liman‘s Universal movie “Mena” starring Tom Cruise.

Lee previously produced Martin Scorsese‘s Oscar winner “The Departed” as well as “The Lego Movie.”

“Given their success with franchises such as ‘Harry Potter’ and the ‘Batman’ series, Warner Bros. is the ideal partner to develop this action thriller which has enormous franchise potential,” Kasidokostas-Latsis and Dougas said in a joint statement.

1821 Media has a number of projects set up at studios, including William Wheeler’s Untitled Kyriakides Project for Disney and “The Odyssey” for Warner Bros., which David Heyman (“Harry Potter”) is producing.
