Directors Guild noms “Mad Men,” “GOT,” “The Knick” for TV awards

PanARMENIAN.Net - After announcing the nominees for best film direction, the Directors Guild of America has now unveiled the nominations in TV field, AceShowbiz reports. In Dramatic Series category, "Game of Thrones" seeks to add a trophy for David Nutter after his Emmy win last September for his direction of the fifth season finale "Mother's Mercy".

He is facing a stiff competition from Lesli Linka Glatter ("Homeland"), Matthew Weiner "Mad Men", Michael Engles ("Downton Abbey") and Steven Soderbergh ("The Knick").

In Comedy Series category, Louis C.K. ("Louie") is up against Chris Addison ("Veep"), Mike Judge ("Silicon Valley"), Gail Mancuso ("Modern Family") and Jill Soloway ("Transparent").

"Show Me a Hero" and "The Wiz Live!" appear in the list of nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Miniseries. "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", "Saturday Night Live", "Inside Amy Schumer" and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart", meanwhile, are nominated in Variety/Talk/News/Sports category.

The winners will be announced at the 68th Annual DGA Awards on February 6 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Jane Lynch will be hosting the event.
