Starline nabs “Harry Brown” scribe’s directorial debut “Henry”

PanARMENIAN.Net - London-based Starline Entertainment has teamed up with Nice One Film on thriller “Henry”, the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Gary Young, best known for revenge thriller “Harry Brown”, in which Michael Caine earned plaudits playing a gun-toting retiree, according to Variety.

“Henry” centers on the son of a ruthless assassin desperately trying to escape his destiny. Young describes the movie as “a stylish, modern-day film noir that deals with the existentialist themes of nature and nurture.”

The film is produced by Shantelle Rochester-Henry (“The Rise of the Krays”) and Nancy Bressolles (“London Heist”) for Nice One Film, in association with Jordan Barker (“Torment”) and Borga Dorter (“The Waiting Room”) of Toronto-based Gearshift Films. Filming is earmarked for September.

Starline, which will be selling world rights, will be working closely with Nice One and Gearshift to develop and package the project for the international market.

Starline’s partner and director of acquisitions, Piers Nightingale, who originally came across the project at the Galway Film Fleadh last year, said: “With ‘Harry Brown’ Gary Young showed exceptional talent as a writer and, now doubling up as director, ‘Henry’ promises to be every bit as distinctive.”

Rochester-Henry, Nice One Film’s CEO, said: “‘Henry’ promises to thrill and touch the audience with exceptionally written twists to keep you on the edge of your seat.”

Casting and further developments will be announced in the coming months.
