HTC M10 to skip MWC, roll out in March with 23-MP camera in tow

PanARMENIAN.Net - After a difficult year in the smartphone space, HTC is looking to make a big impact in 2016 with the upcoming HTC M10, Gigwise reports.

Part of that plan seems to be avoiding falling into the shadows of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 - two handsets tipped to make an MWC unveiling - by skipping the Barcelona-based show.

Instead, it has been suggested that the HTC M10 will be officially announced at a dedicated launch event in March.

According to reports out of China, this will be followed up by an in-store released in April.

Although such a move would put the M10 a month behind its rivals in coming to market, it should also give the handset a chance to stand out and offer new waves of excitement when the inevitable S7-based hype dies down.

It has been suggested that the small delay will help finalise the new design from a number of options.

It's not just on the surface the M10 is set to be all change either. Things are being switched up under the hood too.

Leaks have suggested the phone will host a 23-megapixel camera alongside Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor, an integrated fingerprint scanner and a sizeable 3,000mAh battery.
