Armenia, Iran Presidents hail cooperation, vow to boost ties

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan on Sunday, January 24, had a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani.

According to the Armenian President’s press office, Sargsyan and Rouhani discussed friendly ties and cooperation, as well as a number of key issues currently on the international and regional agendas. The Presidents exchanged views on the possibilities of further developing bilateral relations in view of recent implementation of the nuclear agreement.

Also, the leaders stressed the positive effects these developments could have in terms of strengthening regional security and stability. In this context, the parties agreed that any issue can be resolved through negotiations.

The Iranian President stated his country’s readiness to actively work towards strengthening good-neighborly partnership and cooperation with Armenia. The leaders stressed the importance of going on with the efficient and incessant cooperation aimed at implementation of high-level agreements and realization of new initiatives.

During the phone conversation, the parties agreed upon the timetable of upcoming visits.
