Grace Gummer joins “Mr. Robot” hit hacker drama series

PanARMENIAN.Net - Mr. Robot is adding a new face for season two. The Newsroom grad Grace Gummer has joined the USA Network hacker drama as a series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Gummer will play Dominique "Dom" DiPierro, a young FBI field agent investigating the Evil Corp Hack that occurred in the season one finale. She uses her instinctive skills to try and track down the fsociety members and find answers.

Season two of the series starts production in March in New York City for a summer return date.

Gummer joins a cast that includes Golden Globe winner Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström and Rami Malek, who is up for best actor in a drama series at Saturday's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Creator Sam Esmail exec produces the UCP series, along with Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.

The casting comes weeks after Mr. Robot's triumphant showings at the Golden Globe awards and the Critics Choice awards. Slater and the series won at the former, while Slater, Malek and the series took home trophies at the latter.

Gummer most recently starred on Halle Berry's CBS series Extant for two seasons. She next appears in HBO's Confirmation, as well as the Amazon period drama Good Girls Revolt in the iconic role of Nora Ephron.
