Chemical reconnaissance vehicles deployed to Russian base in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The division of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the Russian military base in Armenia has recently been equipped with 4 modern chemical reconnaissance vehicles, the press office of Russia’s Southern Military District said in a statement.

Created on the basis of BTR-80, the armored vehicles are furnished with an array of special equipment to study the situation and search for threats.

The onboard equipment complex enables monitoring the situation and detecting signs of chemical or biological attacks, also identifying radioactive contamination. It also provides automatic monitoring of meteorological conditions with data output on the operator station, while the information on weather conditions and detected threats can be transmitted to the command post in the field.
