VivaCell-MTS chief supports families in border villagesFebruary 5, 2016 - 12:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The housing problem of two more families became solved in the border village of Khachik in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor province. With the personal support of VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian, one of the families has finished the construction of their half-built house, while the other has renovated the roof. To get the job done, Fuller Center for Housing Armenia has once again undertaken the construction works. Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited Khachik community to share the joy of housewarming with the families. Four months ago, the Kourekhyans lived in a half-built house in major danger of collapse. The family started the construction of their new house four years ago but could only build the walls and the ceiling. “Our village situated on the border, we have somehow got accustomed to living with the feeling of danger. But realizing that the lives of your dear ones are threatened in their own home is even more horrible. Now we have not only a safe but also a decent and a comfortable home. Still, we weren’t surprised, we believed that Mr Yirikian can't stay indifferent to our misfortune,” said Kamo, the father of the Kourekhyan family. For the Hovhannisyans living in the same neighborhood as the Kourekhyans, the year was fruitful too - thanks to Yirikian’s support the family could renovate the asbestos roof that was completely decomposed, rendering the house vulnerable to rains and thaws. “There are people who serve as a classic example of humanism – be that in work, in family, or in everyday life. It is impossible to imagine Ralph Yirikian not helping someone. On behalf of my family, I’d like to express gratitude to him and his family for lending a helping hand to us,” said Vardan, the Hovhannisyan family father.
