Armenian army strong enough to restrain rival’s aggression: Minister

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian army is strong enough to restrain any aggression and develop necessary mechanisms to avert large-scale offensives, the Minister of Defense said Tuesday, February 9, Tert.am reports.

“We are facing a number of challenges,” Seyran Ohanyan said, addressing students and professors at the Yerevan State University. “The security sector is fragile enough to take any turn, but the Armed Forces of Armenia are able to maintain relative peace thanks to their combat readiness, the servicemen’s fighting spirit and a high morale.”

“Despite continuous armed confrontations, the army sets up mechanisms to hold the rival back from large-scale activities and reduce the possibility of military operations to a minimum,” the Minister stressed.

Also, Ohanyan said the military continuously demonstrates ability for improvement and fulfills tasks at a high level.
