"Harry Potter & the Cursed Child" to be released as book this summer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Harry Potter is getting an 8th book. Little, Brown Book Group announces the script for the upcoming two-part play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is set to be released as a book July 31, one day after the West End production is due to premiere in London, AceShowbiz reports.

The play is a collaborative work of author J.K. Rowling, playwright Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany. It will take place 19 years after the event in the last book "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". It is expected to focus on adult Harry and his youngest son Albus.

The synopsis reads, "It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children."

"While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

"The Cursed Child" is not the only treat Rowling has for Harry Potter fans. She also writes a script for a feature film spinoff called "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". It will hit theaters on November 18, starring Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist Newt Scamander.
