Arcade Fire share official footage from David Bowie tribute parade

PanARMENIAN.Net - Footage from the parade Arcade Fire threw in tribute to David Bowie following his death has been revealed by the band, NME reports.

The January event was organised by Arcade Fire and Preservational Hall Jazz Band, the procession marched through New Orleans performing The Thin White Duke's most famous songs, effectively shutting down entire streets of the city.

Fan shot footage from the parade was posted online at the time of the parade but the band have now released their own professional clip for fans who could not be there.

Bowie and the Arcade Fire worked together frequently in the last years of his life. He first joined Win Butler and co on stage at a Fashion Rocks concert in 2005 for a rendition of 'Wake Up', from their debut album 'Funeral'. The performance turned out to be Bowie's penultimate live show. Later in 2013 Bowie sang a guest vocal on the title song of Arcade Fire's most recent album 'Reflektor'.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire recently announced their first live date of 2016.

The band will headline Bilbao BBK in Spain and Lisbon's NOS Alive in July. They join fellow NOS Alive headliners Radiohead on the bill for the Portugese festival's 10th birthday celebrations.

The Chemical Brothers, Tame Impala, Hot Chip, John Grant, Courtney Barnett and The 1975 will also appear at the festival, which takes place in the Portugese capital between July 7-9. Arcade Fire will headline the Sunday night (July 9) after performances from M83 and Jose Gonzalez.
