"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" launches productionFebruary 12, 2016 - 12:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" officially began its production in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, February 11. To celebrate it, director James Gunn took to Facebook that day to share a new set photo featuring a new logo for the upcoming sequel, AceShowbiz reports. The logo is printed on the back of Gunn's director's chair. The filmmaker captioned the picture, "To quote the great poet David Coverdale, Here I Go Again." Also written by Gunn, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are all reprising their roles as heroes who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan will also be back as Yondu and Nebula respectively. In addition, Pom Klementieff has been hired reportedly to play Mantis while Kurt Russell may appear as Star-Lord's dad. The full cast is set to be revealed next week.
