Liam Neeson's Korean war film sells to Germany, TaiwanFebruary 13, 2016 - 18:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Big-budget South Korean war film Operation Chromite, in which Liam Neeson stars as General Douglas MacArthur, has notched a few quick sales at the start of the European Film Market in Berlin, The Hollywood Reporter said. Seoul-based sales company Finecut closed deals for Germany, Austria, Benelux, Yugoslavia and Taiwan for the title. “Liam Neeson looks great in Operation Chromite in this Korean film … We are happy to have acquired a quality movie with quality actors,” said Marko Mollers, acquisition executive of Germany's Splendid Film. Directed by John H. Lee (The Third Way of Love), Operation Chromite is produced by Chung Tae-won (The Blob, Three Kingdoms) at Taewon Entertainment. The film tells the story of unsung heroes who were sacrificed during the Incheon Landing Operation led by General Douglas MacArthur (Neeson) during the Korean War in 1950. Inspired by actual events, the film tells the story of the secret mission X-Ray, which lasted 24 hours and was carried out by a South Korean lieutenant and seven soldiers of the KLO, Korea's covert intelligence unit. Korean A-lister Lee Jung-jae (The Assassination, New World) co-stars alongside Neeson. The film began shooting in December and plans to wrap production in March. It is aiming for a wide domestic release in July from CJ E&M. Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
