Syfy developing television drama for Oculus Rift

PanARMENIAN.Net - Syfy is developing a television drama viewers will be able to experience through Oculus Rift, Digital Spy reports.

Halcyon is a police procedural that will integrate virtual reality into its episodic format, as well as place the concept at the centre of its storyline.

10 episodes of Halcyon will air on Syfy channels across the world, and five other instalments are being produced specifically for Oculus Rift.

Viewers who don't use Oculus Rift will be able to watch recaps of the virtual reality episodes to stay current on its storylines.

The series follows detective Julie Dover, who is tasked with solving the first virtual reality murder in the technically-advanced world of 2058.

Production on the series began this month in Toronto, with Dead or Alive's Benjamin Arfmann directing.

No air date has yet been set for Halcyon.
