Ennio Morricone to be honored with star on Hollywood Walk of FameFebruary 17, 2016 - 22:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Film composer Ennio Morricone is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Variety reveals. Morricone will receive the 2,574th star on the Walk of Fame — located on 7065 Hollywood Boulevard — on Feb. 26 at 11:30 a.m. Event emcee and Hollywood Chamber President/CEO Leron Gubler will unveil the star with help from director Quentin Tarantino, Harvey Weinstein and Pascal Vicedomini, founder and producer of Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Fest. Morricone is nominated for an Oscar this year for best original score for his work on the Weinstein film “The Hateful Eight,” directed by Tarantino. The film won the 2016 Golden Globe for best score as well. He began his career as a music composer in 1961 with the film “Il Federak” directed by Luciano Salce. Morricone gained immense fame while working on the Sergio Leone westerns “A Fistful of Dollars,” “For a Few Dollars More,” “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,” “Once Upon a Time in the West” and “A Fistful of Dynamite.” The composer has received 27 gold discs, seven platinum discs and three Golden Plates. The soundtrack for “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009 and Morricone himself won the prestigious Polar Music Prize the following year.
