Ruling Republican, ARF parties sign agreement on political cooperationFebruary 25, 2016 - 15:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday, February 24 invited the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, or Dashnaktsutyun, to join his government in a power-sharing deal. Dashnaktsutyun took three ministerial posts and appointed two regional governors, according to the memorandum signed with Sargsyan's ruling Republican Party. "The agreement marks the beginning of a long-term political cooperation based on common values and joint goals and action plans," the Republican Party Deputy Chairman Armen Ashotyan told reporters. In a decree signed by Sargsyan, Dashnaktsutyun's Avik Minasyan was appointed Economy Minister. Davit Lokyan and Levon Mkrtchyan were named Ministers of education and of Local Administration, respectively.
