Julia Louis-Dreyfus to exec produce “Soldier Girls” series for HBO

PanARMENIAN.Net - HBO is developing the miniseries “Soldier Girls” with Julia Louis-Dreyfus attached to executive produce, TheWrap has learned.

Based on Helen Thorpe’s 2014 nonfiction book, “Soldier Girls: The Battles of Three Women at Home and at War,” the miniseries tells the stories of three real-life women who enlisted in the National Guard and served their country during the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars, which led them to form life-long friendships.

The “Veep” star will executive produce with her husband Brad Hall. Nicole Riegel will write and co-executive produce.

Riegel herself is a veteran who is also currently writing an untitled military drama with director Cary Fukunaga.
