Sony Pictures Television is to launch True Crime channel in UK

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony Pictures Television is to launch True Crime as a free-to-air channel in UK on March 22. True Crime, which will be available on the Freeview platform, will host back-to-back crime-related programming, making it the platform’s only dedicated crime channel, AceShowbiz reports.

The channel will host real life crime stories, murder mysteries and law-breaking action shows, including “Deadly Women,” “Crime 360,” “The Devil You Know” and “The 9/11 Faker.” Additional favorites such as “Caught on Camera,” “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and “Paternity Court” will also have a home on the channel.

Kate Marsh, executive VP, Western Europe, international networks, said: “True Crime will be a dedicated crime channel, where viewers who are fascinated by true life stories will be able to have everything in one place. The channel further builds on the success of our Freeview channel portfolio and marks our commitment to the UK television market.”

True Crime is the latest addition to the “True” channel portfolio, and will sit alongside True Entertainment (and +1), True Movies 1, True Movies 2 and True Drama. Sony Pictures Television’s worldwide networks portfolio includes 150 channel feeds available in 178 countries, reaching more than 1.3 billion cumulative households worldwide.
