HTC 10 “to spell the end of the One smartphone range”

PanARMENIAN.Net - HTC's next flagship smartphone could launch under a slightly different name than expected, as the latest report suggests the firm is done with its 'One' range, Digital Spy said.

Renowned Twitter leaker Evan Blass claims to have heard from his inside sources that the company's next range-topper will be called the HTC 10.

The move could spell the end for the One line - which debuted back in 2012 with the HTC One X - as well as the two-year-old 'M' handle.

Bless later followed up with tweet clarifying that the HTC 10 will not be powered by Windows 10 Mobile, in response to questions from optimistic Microsoft loyalists.

HTC's 2016 flagship is expected to take its design cues from the HTC One A9, an iPhone lookalike with a premium build.

Early specs rumours point to a QHD AMOLED display and a laser-assisted 12 Ultrapixel camera as the handset's killer features, with a Snapdragon 820 chip and 4GB of RAM running the show.

The HTC One M10 has been tipped to make an appearance in March or April, which gives its Android rivals the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 a month's head start.
