FOX finds its lead star for Mel Gibson's “Lethal Weapon” remake

PanARMENIAN.Net - FOX's "Lethal Weapon" remake has found its lead star. "Rectify" actor Clayne Crawford has been booked to play in the main character Martin Riggs, who was made famous by Mel Gibson in the original 1987 buddy cop action film, AceShowbiz reports.

Crawford is set to join previously-confirmed cast member Damon Wayans Jr. The former "New Girl" star is attached to portray the other cop, an LAPD detective named Roger Murtaugh who was originally played by Danny Glover.

The project has got a pilot commitment from FOX. McG ("Terminator Salvation") is set to direct the TV pilot and Matt Miller ("Chuck") is the showrunner while Dan Lin ("The Lego Movie") serves as an executive producer along with Jennifer Gwartz. It reunites Miller with Lin after their work in last year's ABC drama "Forever", which was canceled after one season.
