Stevie Wonder to play his classic 1976 album at British Summer TimeMarch 14, 2016 - 14:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Stevie Wonder is to perform his classic 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life in its entirety in front of 65,000 people in London this summer, the Guardian reports. The Motown star brings his Songs in the Key of Life tour to the UK on Sunday 10 July, when he will perform at the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park. The performance will come a week after Carole King, as part of the same festival, performs Tapestry in full for the first time. Wonder’s set might be extensive – his shows in the US have featured the album plus a second set of hits, with the gig at Madison Square Garden in New York topping four hours, the Guardian said. Songs in the Key of Life, a double, was Wonder’s 18th album, becoming only the third – after two by Elton John, to enter the Billboard pop chart at No 1. It spent 13 consecutive weeks at No 1. The album won him four Grammy awards in 1977: album of the year (which he also won for his two previous albums), best male pop vocal performance, best R&B vocal performance and producer of the year. Prince and Elton John are among those who have called it the best album of all time.
