Easternlight nabs Hong Kong horror specialist Danny Pang’s “Delusion”

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Delusion”, the new franchise movie by Hong Kong horror director Danny Pang (“Bangkok Dangerous,” “Re-cycle”) has been acquired by Easternlight, the Asian arm of Sydney and Los Angeles-based Arclight, Variety reveals.

The film features three connected stories about characters suffering from delusional disorder and various stages of schizophrenia: a girl who is “seeing things” after an unrequited romance; a girl and her perfect yet imaginary boyfriend; and an insomniac convinced he’s witnessing a girl held captive by a man living across from his apartment.

The film is intended to be the first element of a multi-part franchise, like the Pang brothers’ “Eye” series

It stars Hong Kong singer-actor Chau Pakho (“Shrek the Third,” “12 Golden Ducks”), Cheng Yuan Yuan, An Hu, Hong Chen and Cantopop legend Lee Lung Kei; there’s also a special appearance by Timmy Hung, son of Sammo Hung.

Delusion was produced by Vshine Brothers and prolific producer Sun Wei, and by Huace Media Group. Huace will distribute the film in Mainland China, with a theatrical release set for May.
