China 3D to adapt hit vid game “Dynasty Warriors” into action movie

PanARMENIAN.Net - A live action movie based on Koei Tecmo’s video action game franchise “Dynasty Warriors”, is in production, according to Koei Tecmo Europe. The live action adaptation is being handled at Hong Kong-based China 3D, best known for its “3D Sex And Zen”, Variety reports.

Koei Tecmo’s most successful franchise by far, “Warriors” is a series of tactical action games that has sold more than 18 million copies, including its spin-offs, since 1997.

Roy Chow, who previously directed “Nightfall,” and “Rise of the Legend,” will direct the picture, while Chow’s collaborator for the two titles, Christine To, is on board to write the script.

China 3D will begin shooting in 2017, aiming to release the picture through China, Hong Kong and Macau in 2018. Japanese release date has yet to be confirmed.
