Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Garrett Hedlund circling “Mudbound” March 22, 2016 - 12:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Garrett Hedlund and Jason Mitchell are in talks to star in Dee Rees' indie drama Mudbound, The Hollywood Reporter said. Rees is writing and will direct the film, which is based on Hillary Jordan's novel of the same name, and was first adapted by Virgil Williams (Criminal Minds). The story centers on two men who return home from WWII to work on a farm in rural Mississippi where they struggle to deal with racism and adjusting to life after war. Cassian Elwes, Charles King, Kim Roth, Sally Jo Effenson, Carl Effenson, Chris Lemole and Tim Zajaros are producing while Poppy Hanks is executive producing. King's MACRO is co-financing with Zeal while Good Universe will sell foreign rights.
