Minsk Group only format for Karabakh settlement: Germany

PanARMENIAN.Net - The settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict requires political will by the conflicting parties, German Ambassador to Armenia said at a discussion on the federal republic’s three-month chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

“No doubt, the OSCE Minsk Group, with the three Co-chairs, is the only format mandated to tackle the Nagorno Karabakh peace process and the dialogue between the conflicting parties,” Matthias Kiesler said. “Reducing border tension remains a top priority, given the escalation along the line of contact. Germany supports the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs in investigating ceasefire violations.”

According to Kiesler, they continue cooperating with Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, having appointed an envoy for the South Caucasus who is visiting the region next month, Tert.am reports.

Kiesler urged the conflicting parties to stop making provocative statements and work to establish better relations between the two nations.
