Nintendo rolls out first ever smartphone app Miitomo

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nintendo's first ever smartphone app Miitomo is out now - and it's every bit as daft as it sounds, Digital Spy said.

Nintendo fans in the UK and Ireland can download the app for free on iOS and Android devices.

For those not in the know, Miitomo is more social experience than game. Once you've created your Mii, it will ask a bunch of questions - your favoured hobbies, whether you believe in aliens - and match you with other users to possibly chat with, Digital Spy said.

Players will be able to fully customise their Mii characters, dressing them up in shorts, trousers, hats and a whole host of other accessories.

These accessories can be unlocked through play or purchased using real money.

You can level up based on categories that include style and popularity, and you can take photos and share them on social media. There's even a pachinko-style mini-game called Miitomo Drop.

And Miitomo isn't coming alone. It launches alongside the new My Nintendo service, which provides rewards for participating in games and creating accounts.

You'll earn Platinum Points for interacting with games and apps, while Gold Points are rewarded for buying games.

Gold Points can be used to redeem free games, while Platinum Points will grant users discounts on any purchases made online.

You can sign up for an account by visiting the My Nintendo website and linking with your Nintendo Network ID.
