Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman’s “Office Christmas Party” adds cast

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jamie Chung, “Deadpool” actor Karan Soni and Tony Award nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph will join Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman in the DreamWorks comedy “Office Christmas Party,” TheWrap has exclusively learned.

Will Speck and Josh Gordon are directing from a script by Laura Solon and serving as executive producers on the project, which is being produced by Scott Stuber and Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady and Daniel Rappaport. Paramount will release the holiday comedy on Dec. 9.

Kate McKinnon, T.J. Miller, Olivia Munn, Abbey Lee and Randall Park will co-star in the film, which follows an office Christmas party that gets out of hand.

The project has been in development since 2010, and earlier drafts were written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, as well as Tim Dowling. The film is based on Casady’s original idea for a workplace comedy.

Chung has demonstrated a knack for comedy with her turns in Todd Phillips‘ “Hangover” sequels, Adam Sandler‘s “Grown Ups” and the indie comedies “Bad Johnson” and “Flock of Dudes.” She has also starred in Zack Snyder‘s “Sucker Punch” and Robert Rodriguez‘s “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” and she’s set to reprise her role as Mulan on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” later this month. The actress also voiced a key role in Disney’s animated hit “Big Hero 6.”

Soni is coming off a breakout turn as Ryan Reynolds‘ preferred cab driver in the blockbuster “Deadpool.” Not only is he recognizable from his national AT&T commercials, but he previously starred in Colin Trevorrow‘s “Safety Not Guaranteed” and Sony’s “Goosebumps.” He’ll soon be seen in Paul Feig‘s “Ghostbusters.”

Randolph earned a Tony Award nomination for her turn as Oda Mae Brown in the original Broadway production of “Ghost the Musical.” She co-starred on the ABC series “Selfie” and previously appeared in “Mother of George” and the Robin Williams indie “The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.”
