Samsung granted patent for smart contact lenses

PanARMENIAN.Net - Samsung has been granted a patent in South Korea for smart contact lenses, and it all feels very Black Mirror, Digital Spy said citing SamMobile.

Using a display to project images directly into the eye of the wearer, smart lenses would also feature a camera, an antenna and several sensors that detect movement, controlled by blinking.

You will also need to use an external smartphone or similar device for processing.

The company reportedly started developing the lenses in order to create a better augmented reality experience than smart glasses provide, as projections would go right into the wearer's eyes.

As well as Samsung, Google owns two patents for smart lenses.
