Adam Devine to topline “Paternity Leave” comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - You steal enough scenes as a supporting player, and eventually they begin building movies around you. That’s happening for Adam Devine, who has just made a deal at New Line to star in Paternity Leave, which Todd Strauss-Schulson is set to direct, Deadline said.

Adam Cole-Kelly and Sam Pitman wrote the most recent draft of a concept that was hatched years ago by producers Andrew Panay and Peter Abrams and scribes David Diamond and David Weissman. This comes after Devine’s showy roles in the Pitch Perfect films and The Intern. He’ll next be seen starring with Zac Efron in the Fox comedy Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates, which opens July 7. It also comes fresh on the heels of Devine receiving Comedy Stars of the Year at CinemaCon along with his co-stars Efron and Anna Kendrick. Devine’s also back for a seventh season of Workaholics on Comedy Central and he’s currently in a third season of Adam Devine’s House Party.

Strauss-Schulson directed the horror pic The Final Girls, which starred Malin Akerman and Thomas Middleditch, and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas for New Line.
