Tom Bateman to star in Amy Schumer’s mother/daughter comedyApril 22, 2016 - 15:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - British actor Tom Bateman will make his U.S. film debut opposite Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn in Fox’s untitled mother-daughter comedy, Variety has learned exclusively. Fox announced in October that it had scheduled the project, unofficially known as “Mother/Daughter,” for a Mother’s Day weekend release on May 12, 2017. Schumer set up the project in May. Jonathan Levine (“50/50”) is directing from a script by Katie Dippold (“The Heat”), which is inspired by her relationship with her mother. Chernin Entertainment and Feigco Entertainment are producing. Dippold also serves as executive producer. Schumer and Kim Caramele are also executive producers and provided additional script work. Daria Cercek is overseeing the project for Fox. Bateman recently starred in Kenneth Branagh’s “The Winter’s Tale” alongside Judi Dench on the West End in London. He can also be seen starring in ITV’s “Jekyll And Hyde” and previously starred in “Shakespeare in Love” on stage in London. Schumer’s “Trainwreck” grossed $110 million domestically for Universal and raked in another $28 million internationally. Her original screenplay was nominated for a Writers Guild award. Hawn came on board the project in February.
