She will portray Offred, one of the few remaining fertile women in a totalitarian society in the dystopian Gilead that has been plagued by environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate, AceShowbiz said. The drama follows the handmaid, who is enslaved by a society into sexual servitude in a last-ditch attempt to repopulate the world, as she navigates a repressive regime while searching for the daughter taken from her. Bruce Miller created, writes and executive produces the drama series which is also executive produced by Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears and Warren Littlefield.
