Mark Gordon to produce “Fellini Black and White” drama

PanARMENIAN.Net - Mark Gordon will finance and produce “Fellini Black and White”, a drama that imagines Italian film icon Federico Fellini’s 1957 visit to Los Angeles, Variety reports.

The project had been in development with the late Henry Bromell attached to direct from his own script before Bromell died in 2013. Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar and Wynn Wygal had been developing the project with the Yari Film Group and remain as producers.

Bromell’s script, which appeared on the 2005 Black List, speculates what might have happened to the filmmaker during the two days before the Oscars, where Fellini received the best foreign language film award for “Nights of Cabiria.” Three other Fellini films — “La Strada,” “8 1/2” and “Amarcord” — also won the foreign language Academy Award.

Terrence Howard, Peter Dinklage, William H. Macy, Wagner Moura, Nina Arianda and Abbie Cornish were previously set to star in the film. No actors or directors are currently attached.

Gordon’s TV credits include “Criminal Minds” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” The Mark Gordon Company and the Koch Company announced earlier this month that they were teaming with Chinese entertainment studio Pegasus Media Group and China Film Group on the English-language romance “Edge of the World.”

Gordon’s feature film producing credits include the upcoming “War Dogs,” with Todd Phillips directing and starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller. His past films include “Saving Private Ryan,” “Steve Jobs,” “Source Code,” “2012,” “The Day After Tomorrow” and “The Patriot.”
