Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan to perform at Sydney Opera House

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prominent Armenian cellist, Gold Medal winner at 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition Narek Hakhnazaryan will make his Australian debut on May 4, 6 and 7, performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House.

The concert program includes the Symphony No. 7 (Leningrad) by Shostakovich and Variations on a Rococo Theme by Tchaikovsky, the website of the Sydney Opera House said.

Hakhnazaryan played with prestigious orchestras around the world, including London Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Rotterdam Philharmonic and Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev. He also performed with orchestras including Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Ton Koopman, where he stood in for Yo-Yo Ma, and with St. Luke's Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, La Scala, NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Seoul Philharmonic, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
