WhatsApp “to add video calling features to bring the fight to FaceTime”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chances are WhatsApp's already replaced texts as your go-to messaging option of choice, and possibly your traditional dialer for making calls too, Digital Spy said.

Now it's got its eyes on toppling the likes of FaceTime and Skype too, with video calling options reportedly on their way to the free-to-use messaging service.

At least that's according to a leaked screengrab from a reported test account surfaced by Phone Radar, Digital Spy said.

The leak shows video calling options lining up alongside the Facebook-owned app's existing voice call capabilities.

With the powers that be at WhatsApp yet to openly discuss these rumoured plans, it's currently unclear when – or indeed if – the digital face-to-face chat service will be introduced to wider users.

Although a coveted addition, video calling isn't the only new WhatsApp feature on the way, with improved desktop support and voicemail options recently tipped to make an appearance, Digital Spy said.
