"Maze Runner" star to join Michael Keaton in “American Assassin”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Dylan O'Brien is expected to headline "American Assassin". The lead star of "The Maze Runner" franchise is attached to play the role of Mitch Rapp, a top recruit for CIA's black ops. He joins Michael Keaton who will play his mentor, AceShowbiz said.

Lionsgate and CBS Films are adapting the movie based on Vince Flynn's best-seller of the same name. Michael Cuesta ("Homeland", "Kill the Messenger) boards the project as a director while Stephen Schiff is tapped to write the screenplay.

Dylan O'Brien was last seen in "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials". He will next be seen opposite Mark Wahlberg in true-story oil rig disaster film "Deepwater Horizon". He is currently on the mend after getting injured on the set of "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure". The production is currently put on hold.
