Facebook adding 360-degree photos to News Feed

PanARMENIAN.Net - Get ready to start tilting your phone around even more, as Facebook is set to begin the rollout of 360-degree photos onto News Feeds over the coming weeks, Digital Spy said.

“The move comes after the September release of 360-degree videos, which undoubtedly led to you spinning around on your seat at work trying to view all the possible variations of your mates' recent skydive.

The video application is usually best reserved for rare occasions, but the new photo function will mean that any of those panoramic photos you've had saved in your camera roll can now get the 360-degree, tilting treatment.

Just don't be surprised if you get odd looks when spinning around with your arm stretched out in public.

Alternatively, you can swipe on your news feed to view the entire photo, but where's the fun in that?

You might be wondering where your VR headset comes into play with all this, but have no fear —Facebook will also add a new photos section to the Oculus app so you can go ahead and strap your Gear VR on to get the full experience.

While News Feed changes can often be an unnecessary shift away from what you've become accustomed to, this one is actually a fairly interesting update.

We'll let you off, Mark Zuckerberg - just this one time,” Digital Spy said.
