Mark Wahlberg’s “Transformers 5” gets official title, 1st teaser trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Paramount Pictures announces on Instagram that "Transformers 5" will officially be called "Transformers: The Last Knight". The studio also shares a teaser trailer for the fifth installment of the "Transformers" film series, AceShowbiz reports.

The teaser video gives a first look at Optimus Prime before showing the official title. Production will begin in June in Detroit. "Calling all #Autobots: Optimus Prime is ready for battle. Are you? #transformers," reads the caption.

Michael Bay and Mark Wahlberg retweet the teaser trailer. Michael writes, "It's been an amazing journey with @transformers. Ready for another ride, Optimus?" Mark, meanwhile, posts, "This guy is a machine. Optimus Prime just made his first appearance on the #transformers."

Mark will reprise his role as Cade Yeager while Isabela Moner will star as the female lead, Izabella. Jerrod Carmichael is also added to take on an unspecified leading role.

In February, Paramount announced current plans call for three "Transformers" sequels with one released each year beginning in 2017. "Transformers: The Last Knight" is coming to U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017, followed by a Bumblebee spin-off film in 2018 before "Transformers 6" arrives in 2019.
