Oscar-nommed Michael Keaton back in talks for “Spider-Man: Homecoming”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Michael Keaton is back in the mix to join "Spider-Man: Homecoming" after initial negotiations were stalled. The "Birdman" actor is closing the deal to play a villain in the Spidey reboot which is co-produced by Marvel for July 7, 2017 release.

As AceShowbiz reports citing Variety, Keaton previously didn't get past the offer stage due to the budget issues. With Robert Downey Jr. expected to reprise his superhero role as Iron Man in the remake, producers thought they couldn't afford both talents.

If Keaton seals the deal, he will join Tom Holland who is tapped as the new webslinger. Marisa Tomei is booked to play Aunt May. Zendaya Coleman, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori join the cast ensemble while Jon Watts serves as a director.

Michael Keaton will next be seen on the big screen in a true-story pic "The Founder" as the man who built McDonald's fast food chain. His previous movies "Birdman" and "Spotlight" won Best Picture at the Oscar while his other one "Minions" was a huge commercial success.
