Armenia's Sargsyan honors author Peter Balakian with presidental award

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday, May 26 awarded author Peter Balakian for his efforts to raise awareness of the Armenian Genocide, the presidential press office reports.

During the ceremony, Sargsyan hailed Balakian's work, noting that In his documentary “Who Killed Armenians?”, the author revealed the Armenians' pain through artistic power.

The 2015 President’s Award took place Thursday at the Presidential Palace. Sargsyan and the representative of the Robert Pogossian and Sons Foundation, philanthropist from Diaspora Albert Pogossian presented the awards to the winners for their significant contribution in a number of fields.
