Callan Mulvey, Tyson Ritter starring in dystopian drama “Desolate”May 28, 2016 - 13:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Callan Mulvey, Tyson Ritter, Mark Kassen and Juston Street are starring in the independent dystopian drama “Desolate”, Variety has learned exclusively. Frederick Cipoletti is directing from a script he co-wrote with Jonathan Rosenthal. The film is produced by Rosenthal, Cipoletti and Jordan Foley. The story is centered around a family of farmers living in a dystopian future where a severe drought is forcing people off of their land. A criminal has moved in to take advantage of the minimal remaining resources, kidnapping women and killing anyone who stands in its way. Will Brittain, Natasha Bassett, James Russo, Bill Tangradi and Jonathan Rosenthal are also starring. The four-week shoot is taking place in Gilroy and the Central Valley area of California with production wrapping Friday. Mulvey has appeared in “300: Rise of an Empire,” “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Ritter is the lead guitarist of the rock band The All-American Rejects.
