Armenian, Czech presidents talk Karabakh conflict, EU cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan and his Czech counterpart Milos Zeman on Wednesday, June 8 signed a memorandum of bilateral ties between the two countries, the Presidential press office reports.

Also Wednesday, Zeman visited Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide memorial to lay flowers in memory of the victims.

Addressing a press conference after a high-level meeting, Sargsyan hailed the Czech Republic's continued support to the EU-Armenia cooperation.

Also, Sargsyan said, Armenia attaches great importance to the Czech Republic's position on settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group format.

“We both stressed the significance of implementing the arrangements reached at a Vienna-hosted meeting on May 16, particularly adhering to the 1994-1995 ceasefire agreement, installing border investigation mechanisms, as well as expanding the team of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office,” Sargsyan said.

Also, Sargsyan said he briefed his Czech colleague about a possible meeting with the Azerbaijani President to be mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs.
