Drake's “Views” spends 6th consecutive week atop Billboard 200

PanARMENIAN.Net - Drake once again gets to see "Views" from the top as his latest album remains at No. 1 on Billboard 200. The record earns a sixth consecutive week at the summit with another 135,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 9, AceShowbiz reports citing Nielsen Music.

That figure includes 32,000 in pure album sales, 22,000 in track equivalent album (TEA) and 81,000 in streaming equivalent album (SEA). It means, the project was streamed 122.1 million times during the tracking week.

Billboard points out that "Views" now has the most consecutive weeks atop the chart for an album by a man in over 10 years. 50 Cent's "The Massacre" was the last set to spend six weeks in a row at No. 1 back in March-April 2005. Eminem's "Recovery" is still the latest album by a male artist to have more weeks at No. 1 as it topped the list for seven non-consecutive weeks in 2010.

Next on this week's Billboard 200, Beyonce Knowles' "Lemonade" rises one rung to No. 2 with 69,000 units that include 48,000 in traditional album sales. Veteran musician Paul Simon scores his highest debut ever and his highest-charting solo set in nearly three decades as "Stranger to Stranger" opens at No. 3 with 68,000 units (67,000 in pure album sales).

At No. 4 is rock group Volbeat's "Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie", which gives them their highest charting album so far and their biggest sales week yet with 48,000 copies of its 51,000 equivalent units.

Country acts Maren Morris and Dan + Shay are the last newcomers in the top 10. The songbird's debut major label album "Hero" launches at No. 5 with 45,000 units, easily surpassing her No. 96-peaking self titled EP that came out earlier this year.

The country duo consisting of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, meanwhile, arrives at No. 8 as "Obsessed" collects 33,000 units in its first week. This is their second top 10 effort, following 2014's "Where It All Began" that peaked at No. 6.

Other titles making up this week's top 10 include Rihanna's "Anti" that jumps one rung to No. 6 with 40,000 units, Ariana Grande's "Dangerous Woman" that descends to No. 7 with 33,000 units, Blake Shelton's "If I'm Honest" that plunges to No. 9 with 33,000 units and Twenty One Pilots' "Blurryface" that keeps its position steady at No. 10 with another 31,000 units.
