Leonardo Bonucci agrees $190.000-a-week contract with Chelsea

PanARMENIAN.Net - Leonardo Bonucci has accepted an £130,000-a-week (about $191.000) contract from Chelsea, the Metro said citing reports.

The Juventus defender is currently working under incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte with Italy at Euro 2016.

Conte is desperate to bring the 29-year-old with him to Stamford Bridge.

Bonucci and his representatives have agreed to a three-year deal with the club, according to The Sun.

Chelsea are now expected to launch a £32 (over $47 million) million bid in an attempt to convince the Serie A champions into selling one of their defensive linchpins.

Conte is keen for him to play in a three-man central defense alongside Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma next season, the Metro said.

Chelsea’s offer will see them play Juventus £25m up front with another £7m in add-ons.

Conte joins after Euro 2016 and has a big task on his hands turning the Blues back into title contenders, the Daily Star said.

Jose Mourinho's title winners flopped last season.

And Conte could need to sharpen his axe and get rid of the club's dead wood to get them firing at the right end of the table.
