PanARMENIAN.Net - The government on Thursday, June 23 approved a draft package of amendments and additions to Armenia’s new Electoral Code.

According to chief of Armenian President's staff Vigen Sargsyan, the government has adopted an extensive set of additional proposals which require serious funding.

Sargsyan said relevant works are currently underway with potential donor organizations and the United Nations Development Program, in particular.

The program is estimated at $16 million by the UNDP and the European Union's delegation.

Sargsyan said fingerprints of some 1.5 million potential voters will have to be collected which requires a great deal of work.
