Muse, Foals, Disclosure & more play Glastonbury day oneJune 25, 2016 - 13:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Glastonbury 2016 officially kicked off today on June 24, with Muse headlining the Pyramid Stage, alongside performances from Disclosure, Foals, Sigur Ros, Stormzy. Hot Chip, Jess Glynne, Bastille and countless others were also set to perform, as the festival's music programme officially started, two days after gates opened. June 24 night is Muse's third headline slot at the festival, after topping the bill in 2004 and 2010, making them the only band ever to headline all three nights of Glastonbury over the course of their career. Earlier this year, frontman Matt Bellamy offered some advice to first time headliner Adele, inviting her to duet with the band at the festival: "The best thing to do would be to come the night before, and watch us, and come on and sing a song with us - sing ‘Feeling Good’ or something, take the pressure off, like a no pressure little moment like that." Bellamy told Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw. "Or just watch a few acts, and get a feel for the stage before you go on.” Unfortunately, Adele is yet to take Bellamy up on his offer. Elsewhere across the site, Disclosure were poised to headline The Other Stage, while Sigur Ross closed The John Peel Stage. Bring Me The Horizon, Editors, ZZ Top, Two Door Cinema Club and more also played. Meanwhile, Radiohead, Iggy Pop and Charlotte Church were among the acts rumoured for a secret set.
