Blackberry's upcoming phone revealed in fresh leakJuly 1, 2016 - 12:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - It's been common knowledge within the tech community for some time that Blackberry will release two mid-level Android smartphones in 2016. Now, it appears one of the phones, codenamed Hamburg, has been leaked. Instead of naming it after the German city, though, a report indicates that the new device will be called the Blackberry Neon – snazzy, Digital Spy reports. A tweeted picture shows off the rear of the phone, as well as essentially confirming many rumours regarding it. The most notable of which is that the BlackBerry Neon (or Hamburg, or whatever it ends up being called) will be a rebranded copy of the Alcatel Idol 4, due to the company's suspected partnership with TCL. The leaked image has many similarities to the Idol 4, including its central camera placement, flash, and top and bottom metallic strips and speakers. In terms of specs, the phone is rumoured to offer a 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 615 chipset and 3GB of RAM. Other features listed include a 12MP rear camera, 7MP front-facing snapper, and 16GB of internal storage, which puts Blackberry's upcoming handset within the Idol 4 territory. While none of this info has been confirmed by Blackberry, and the image could still very well be a Photoshop job, the signs are all pointing to it being true. The release dates for this and the company's other smartphone, nicknamed Rome, are also unknown.
