“Talking Tom” app partnering on Kevin Spacey comedy “Nine Lives”

PanARMENIAN.Net - EuropaCorp and Outfit7 are launching a global partnership between the upcoming Kevin Spacey-Jennfier Garner comedy “Nine Lives” and the Talking Tom Cat app, Variety reports.

It’s the first time that Talking Tom has partnered with a feature film for a cross-brand integration since it was introduced in 2010 with a cat that responded to gestures made on smartphone and tablet screens, and could animate voice recordings. The app now offers other animals and has spun off an animated web series, “Taking Friends,” that streams on Disney’s YouTube channel and other networks.

The alliance, announced Friday, comes a month before EuropaCorp opens “Nine Lives,” starring Spacey, Jennifer Garner, Robbie Amell, Malina Weissman, Mark Consuelos, Christopher Walken, and Cheryl Hines. Spacey plays a workaholic father who suddenly finds himself trapped in the body of his family’s newly adopted cat and must learn to reconnect with his family or remain a cat forever.

Outfit7 has upgraded the The Talking Tom app with a new “Nine Lives” record button for users to record and share “second chance videos.” Outfit7 also created content for all of its social media channels including graphics/videos with the cast and a special engagement video featuring Jennifer Garner and Talking Tom.

Additionally, the Talking Tom app and Tom cat character have been incorporated into various aspects of the film.

“Talking Tom is one of the world’s most recognizable characters and it’s naturally fitting for the original app and his namesake to appear in ‘Nine Live,’” said Samo Login, Outfit7 CEO and Co-founder.

The family friendly app has generated more than 5.7 billion views on its various branded content on YouTube. Outfit7 asserts that players have spent 945,000 years playing with Talking Tom apps and knocking the cat down over 191 billion times.
