Iran interested in Armenia’s water resources

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran is interested in Armenia’s water resources, a top official from the Ministry of Agriculture told reporters, according to Tert.am.

Iran expressed such a desire some time ago, Chairman of Armenia's State Committee for Water Management Aram Harutyunyan said.

“They seek to take Armenian waters from Lake Sevan and elsewhere to Lake Urmia,” Harutyunyan said.

“We didn’t agree due to political reasons. We aren’t undertaking any measures at the moment, the issue needs thorough consideration.”
