Harry Dean Stanton, David Lynch join John Carroll Lynch’s “Lucky”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Harry Dean Stanton is starring in John Carroll Lynch’s directorial debut “Lucky”, currently shooting in Los Angeles, Variety reports.

David Lynch will also appear in the film, which adds to the list of projects he and Stanton have worked on together, including “Wild at Heart” and “The Straight Story.” Stanton is also expected to appear in Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” reboot.

Superlative Films is the production company. John Carroll Lynch is directing from a script by Stanton’s longtime friends Logan Sparks and Drago Sumonja.

“Lucky” follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist — played by Stanton — and the quirky characters that inhabit his off-the-map desert town. He finds himself at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self-exploration.

The cast includes Ed Begley Jr. (“Better Call Saul”), Ron Livingston and Tom Skerritt, along with Barry Shabaka Henley, Beth Grant, Yvonne Huff Lee, Hugo Armstrong and James Darren.“

Producers are Logan Sparks, Drago Sumonja, Richard Kahan and Ira Steven Behr. Danielle Renfrew Behrens for Superlative Films; along with Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks and John Lang of Divide/Conquer. Jason Delane Lee from The Langralane Group is an executive producer.

Stanton has appeared in nearly 200 films and television series, including “Alien,” “The Green Mile,” “Cool Hand Luke,” “Pretty in Pink,” and “Paris, Texas,” and HBO’s “Big Love.”

The director most recently appeared in “American Horror Story” and “The Americans.”

Danielle Renfrew Behrens launched Superlative Film in January as an equity fund and strategic partner for a slate of independent films. Renfrew Behrens is an executive producer on Sam Hoffman’s directorial debut “Humor Me” starring Elliott Gould and Jemaine Clement.

Her producing credits include Lily Tomlin’s “Grandma,” “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,” “The Queen of Versailles” and Fox Searchlight’s “Waitress.”
